SDFM Washington Chapter is a non-profit educational and professional organization that helps to bridge the gap between the office and the battlefield, while supporting transformation in the defense financial management sector.
We have connected people, solutions, and ideas to the defense financial management community for 75 years.
Description
SDFM is the membership community for individuals and organizations involved in the practice and support of the defense financial management field. Our members, both uniformed and civilian, come from the Department of Defense, all branches of the United States Armed Forces, the Fourth Estate, other governmental agencies as well as private sector organizations and academia.
One thing is clear: Our members make the chapter great. We have an active Scholarship program and we ...do a variety of community service projects throughout each year. We have what must be the most comprehensive chapter web site of all the SDFM chapters, plus we have informative newsletters. Best of all we have a strong guest speaker program at our monthly meetings since we are able to call upon many high-ranking DoD staff in the National Capital Region. By becoming a member of the Washington Chapter, you’ve joined an SDFM Five Star Chapter, awarded fourteen out of the last fifteen years. We hope you’ll be able to be as active as many of our members.
General Information
SDFM promotes the education and training of its members and supports the development and advancement of the profession of defense financial management field. The society sponsors research, provides professional programs to keep members abreast of current issues and encourages the exchange of techniques and approaches.
