Mr. Wesley C. Miller
Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Assistant Secretary of the Army, Financial Management and Comptroller, U.S. Army
Mr. Wesley C. Miller was appointed to the Senior Executive Service in May 2003. He is currently serving as the Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Financial Management and Comptroller) as of 6 January 2021. In this role he serves as the principal advisor to the Secretary of the Army on all matters related to Financial Management and Comptrollership. He is also responsible for resourcing America's Army through policies and activities, including budget formulation and execution, disbursement and audit compliant financial statements.
Mr. Miller was appointed as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army (Financial Operations and Information), in December 2015 where he was responsible for oversight and integration of all Army policies, programs, systems, and procedures designed to develop, improve and maintain the Army's financial accountability, ability to produce auditable financial statements and internal management control programs.
Mr. Miller was previously assigned as the Director of Resource Management, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, in April 2006 where he was responsible for planning, developing, coordinating, advising on, and directing all activities of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers integrated financial management system.
His initial Executive Service position was as the Director, Management and Control Directorate in the Army Budget Office. Other assignments at the Army Budget Office included Executive for Budgeting to the Planning, Programming and Budgeting Committee; Chief Operating Forces Division; and Chief Current Operations Branch. He also served over 29 years as an officer in the United States Army Finance Corps.
Mr. Miller earned a Master of Public Administration from the University of Missouri, Kansas City and a BS in Accounting, Eastern Kentucky University.
Mr. Miller is a Certified Defense Financial Manager, a graduate of the National Defense University’s Industrial College of the Armed Forces, the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, and the Finance Officer Basic and Advanced Courses
