The Honorable Marc Andersen was appointed as the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Financial Management and Comptroller (ASA (FM&C) on 15 October 2025. In this capacity, he is the principal advisor to the Secretary of the Army and Army senior leadership on all matters related to financial management and comptrollership. He is responsible for optimally resourcing the Army to fight and win the Nation’s wars while ensuring the highest standards of fiscal stewardship and accountability.
Mr. Andersen is a founder, board member, and senior executive with an exceptional record of building businesses, transforming organizations, and positively impacting communities, teams, and people. His extensive public and private sector experience has cultivated a robust network of relationships that enables him to navigate the complex dimensions of the defense, policy, and global business environments.
Mr. Andersen sector expertise spans defense, dual-use technology, telecommunications, private equity, venture capital, consumer products, banking, and capital markets. Prior to his appointment as ASA FM&C, Mr. Andersen founded and served as Managing Member of Andersen Advisory LLC, an advisory firm guiding mission-focused founders, funders, and operators advancing freedom, independence, and liberty through dual-use technology and strategic teaming.
Mr. Andersen also served as a Venture Partner with IronGate Capital Advisors, supporting investments in companies and venture partnerships developing technologies that strengthen the national security of the United States and its allies.
As EY Senior Partner Emeritus, Mr. Andersen’s career highlights include creating Ernst & Young’s U.S. Federal Consulting business, serving as America’s Government and Public Sector Leader, U.S. Strategy, Brand and Communications Leader, and Senior Global Client Service Partner to some of the firm’s largest clients. Before joining EY, he was a Partner at Arthur Andersen LLP and co-founder of a high-tech software and services company.
