Ms. Doris Thaxton is the Chief of Business Operations within the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Financial Management and Comptroller (OASA(FM&C)). In her current position, she is responsible for providing a full range of services to support the continuity of operations as a direct outcome of the Army’s financial statement audit mission within the Financial Operations and Accounting Directorate.
Prior to her current role, Ms. Thaxton performed the role as the director of resource and contract management, where she developed and synchronized many business processes to aligned to financial management capabilities. Additionally, she served as the Functional Integrator for financial management systems, overseeing the execution of critical system initiatives supporting key stakeholder requirements.
Ms. Thaxton is a transformational leader with over 26 years of federal and private-sector experience related to information technology support activities in areas such as strategic planning, program management, change management, contract management, and systems integration.
Ms. Thaxton holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Francis Marion University and a Master of Arts in Computer Resources and Information Management from Webster University. She is a 2022 ASMC award recipient for Distinguished Performance of Team Achievement. Lastly, she is Level III financial management certified.
