With over 35 years of experience, Ms. Del Mar is recognized as an outcome-driven thought-leader in financial improvement. A former business executive, her relationships are expansive and collaborative, spanning both government and private sectors – enabling her to be an effective spokesperson and passionate advocate for Federal business standardization, simplification, and smart application of innovation. Ms. Del Mar possesses a strong public service commitment, evidenced by her leave of absence from industry that has included her current senior executive position at OUSDC, her previous Presidential appointment at the Department of Veterans Affairs, her inaugural DoD CIO industry executive exchange detail at the Department of Defense (DoD), as well as her ongoing volunteer leadership as a life member of the Society of Defense Financial Managers (SDFM), formerly American Society of Military Comptroller (ASMC). In June she was awarded SDFM’s highest honor, the President’s award, for sustained exemplary service to the DoD FM community.
Ms. Del Mar serves as the principal Senior FM Systems Advisor in direct support of the development and execution of the DoD Financial Management Strategy FY22-26 and Implementation Plan for 2028.
She is also the Functional Lead ensuring OUSDC Functional Sponsor responsibilities for the DoD’s Defense Agencies Initiative (DAI) – a standard compliant enterprise business capability for Defense Agencies that enabled the USMC unmodified opinion in FY23, sustained in FY24. She was recently awarded a singular OUSDC Exceptional Public Service Award 2024 for her leadership of the USMC FM Transformation and Audit attainment.
