On 4 June 2023, Mr. Bruce B. Miller was sworn in as The Auditor General of the U.S. Army at the U.S. Army Audit Agency’s Operations Center on Fort Belvoir, Virginia. As The Auditor General of the Army, Mr. Miller is responsible for managing the worldwide operations of the U.S Army Audit Agency, a 500-person organization with a $80 million budget. The Agency provides internal auditing services
throughout the Department of the Army and provides objective and independent auditing services to help Army leaders make informed decisions, solve problems, use resources effectively and efficiently, satisfy statutory and fiduciary responsibilities, and prevent and detect fraud, waste, and abuse.
Prior to joining Army Audit, Mr. Miller served as the Deputy Inspector General for Audits at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Inspector General. In this role, Mr. Miller led a workforce of over 300 auditors and inspectors conducting oversight of the Department’s 22 different federal departments and agencies. During his tenure at Homeland Security, he issued over 100 reports and identified over $5 billion in potential monetary benefits. Mr. Miller also served in Executive positions at the Defense Contract Audit Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Inspector
General. Mr. Miller is also an Army veteran and served primarily in the 82nd Airborne Division at Ft. Liberty, North Carolina.
